Abstract

The objective of this research is to find out the influence of teaching strategy, nutrition status, and the interaction of those variables toward improving “student” motor ability. Applying Factorial Design 2x3 with 30 student as sample, the study was conducted at Preschool of Bhayangkari and FKIP Unsyiah, Banda Aceh. The study concludes as follow: 1) Applying play method in teaching physical and motor education giving better achievement in improving student’s motor ability than that of demonstration method. 2) For student with over weight and normal weight, applying play method providing better result than that of demonstration method. 3) For student with under weight, however, applying demonstration method offering better result than that of play method. 4) That is an interaction between teaching strategy and nutrition status toward improving student motor ability. Therefore, for achieving better result in teaching physical and motor education, particularly in improving motor ability of Preschool student, applying play method suggested.
