Abstract
Ikhsan Maulana, NIM 7213550025 “Implementation of Expert Advisor with
Modified Martingale Strategy Using RSI and Stochastic Oscillator Indicators
on GBP/AUD Pair: Case Study of XM Micro Account on MetaTrader 5”
This study aims to develop an Expert Advisor (EA) using a modified Martingale
strategy combined with the Relative Strength Index (RSI) and Stochastic
Oscillator indicators on the GBP/AUD pair to increase profitability while
minimizing risk. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D)
method with a Waterfall model implemented through the MQL5 programming
language on the MetaTrader 5 platform specifically for Micro XM accounts.
Testing was conducted through Backtesting using historical data (January
2022–December 2024) and Real-time testing (September–October 2025). The
results show that Scenario 1 (H1 timeframe) delivers the most optimal
performance compared to Scenario 2 (H4 timeframe). In the backtesting phase,
H1 generated a Net Profit of $1,132.22 with a Profit Factor of 4.09 and a very low
Maximum Drawdown of 3.25%. In contrast, H4 generated lower profits ($806.62)
with higher risk (Drawdown 8.52%). This consistency was confirmed in real-time
testing, where H1 recorded a Recovery Factor of 3.81, far superior to H4's 0.33. It
was concluded that modifying Martingale through level restrictions and adaptive
multipliers effectively prevents margin calls, with the combination of indicators
on the H1 timeframe proving to be the most efficient and safest for traders with
