Abstract

This study aimed to develop English lesson plan of speaking descriptive text for students in vocational high school. This study was conducted using research Research and Development (R & D) method of Borg and Gall (2003). This study was descriptive qualitatively conducted that taken in the tenth grade at SMK Negeri 10 Medan. The instruments of collecting data were observation, interview
and documentation. The data were collected by interviewing the English teacher and analyzing the lesson plan. The findings of this study showed that there were 3 developed English lesson plan of speaking descriptive text. It consists of three different learning models for each lesson plan. Then, the experts validated the product. The product had been validated by an English lecturer and an English teacher with the mean score was 3.64 from 4, with the percentage was 91.07%. The product was categorized as “Very Good”. Overall, the English lesson plan that developed by the researcher is eligible to use in teaching speaking descriptive text especially in culinary art program.
