Abstract

The objectives of this research were to know the student’s science process skills using inquiry training learning model, student’s science process skills using conventional learning, the effect of inquiry training learning model on student’s science process skills, and it’s activity using inquiry training learning model in momentum and impulse at class X SMA N 11 Medan. The type of this research is quasi-experimental which using pre-test and post-test model. The sample of this research were students of class X-6 that consists of 33 students as experiment class and X-4 that consist of 33 students as control class. The object of this research is student’s science process skills. The instrument to measure student’s science process skills are consists of fifteen questions based on science process indicator.
Based on the data pretest result that got that both of classes are normal distributed and then both of data pretest are homogeneous samples. After giving treatment in both samples, experimental class is taught by inquiry training learning model and control class is taught by conventional learning that get the result of average score in experimental class is 68 and average score in control class is 58. The result of t-test of post-test that get Ha accepted and Ho rejected, thus there is a significant effect of inquiry training learning model on student’s science process skills.
