SPEECH FUNCTION IN RADITYA DIKA'S UTTERANCES IN STAND UP COMEDY SHOW

This study aims to find out the speech function in Raditya Dika’s utterances in stand up comedy show. It is conducted to figure out the types of speech function realized in Raditya Dika’s in stand up comedy show. The data of this study was taken from internet. The source of data was the transcript of Raditya Dika’s utterances in his four comedy show and the data analyzed was 167 utterances. Those utterances then analyzed by four aspects of speech function namely statement, question, offer and command. After analyzing the data, it was found that from 167 utterances there were 109 utterances belong to of statement, 30 utterances of question, 13 utterances of command and 15 utterances of offer. The speech function find their realizations in Mood which is an aspect of interpersonal meaning at the level of lexicogrammar. The basic or proto speech function of statement, question and command are realized or expressed by declarative, interrogtive, and imperative moods respectively. The speech function of offer does not have an unmarked representation of mood
