SATIRE IN INDONESIA LAWAK KLUB

This study deals with the types of satire in Indonesia Lawak Klub. The objectives of this study were to identify the types of satire which were applied in Indonesia Lawak Klub and to found out what the dominant types of satire used in Indonesia Lawak Klub. This research applied descriptive qualitative method. It took five episodes of Indonesia Lawak Klub aired on January, 7th 2017 episode “Pilkada Jakarta”, on January, 21st 2017 episode “Di Balik Debat Pilkada”, on January 28th, 2017 episode “Kreativitas dalam berkampanye”, on February, 4th 2017 episode “kompetisi menjadi Gubernur” and on February 11th, 2017 episode “Prrediksi Tanpa Isi”, which were downloaded from internet. The data focused on the dialogs of the panelists in Indonesia Lawak Klub that consist of Satire. Based on the analysis, there were three types of satire occurred in the show namely Horatian satire, Juvenalian satire and Manippean satire proposed by Abrams theory. However there was one type of satire which was not listed in the types of satire itself. The researcher named it Corrective satire. It can be found 66 utterances consist of satire, there were 44% frequencies of Horatian attire, 27% frequencies of Juvenalian satire, 15% frequencies of Manippean Satire and 14% frequencies of Corrective satire. The most dominant type of satire occurred in Indonesia Lawak Klub was Horatian Satire with 44 % frequencies.
