Description:

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengetahui hasil belajar geografi siswa yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD lebih tinggi daripada hasil belajar geografi siswa yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran ekspositori, (2) mengetahui hasil belajar geografi siswa yang memiliki motivasi belajar tinggi lebih tinggi daripada hasil belajar geografi siswa yang memiliki motivasi belajar rendah, (3) mengetahui interaksi antara model pembelajaran dan motivasi belajar terhadap hasil belajar geografi. Penelitian dilakukan di SMA Swasta semester genap Tahun Pelajaran 2010/2011. Populasi berjumlah 361 orang dan sampel diambil dua kelas dengan menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling berjumlah 91 orang yang terdiri dari 45 orang siswa kelas X-5 untuk model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD dan 46 orang siswa kelas X-3 untuk model pembelajaran ekspositori. Angket motivasi belajar dilakukan untuk mengelompokkan siswa atas motivasi belajar tinggi dan motivasi belajar rendah. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode ek:sperimen dengan rancangan quasi eksperimen desain faktorial 2 x 2. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah ANAVA dua jalur dengan taraf signifikan a= 0,05 dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Scheffe, yang sebelumnya dilakuk.an uji persyaratan analisis yaitu uji norm.alitas dan uji homogenitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) hasil belajar geografi siswa yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD lebih tinggi daripada hasil belajar geografi siswa yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran ekspositori, dengan Fhitung = 7,76 > Ftabel = 3,972, (2) hasil belajar geografi siswa yang memiliki motivasi belajar tinggi lebih tinggi daripada siswa yang memiliki motivasi belajar rendah, dengan Fhitung = 65,24 > Ftabel = 3,972, (3) ada interaksi antara model pembelajaran dan motivasi belajar terhadap hasil belajar geografi siswa, dengan Fhitung = 8,75 > Ftabel = 3,972. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD lebih baik dari model pembelajaran ekspositori dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar geografi siswa. Siswa yang memiliki motivasi belajar tinggi memperoleh hasil belajar lebih tinggi daripada siswa yang memiliki motivasi belajar rendah. Siswa yang memiliki motivasi belajar rendah memperoleh hasil belajar lebih baik jika diajar dengan model pembelajaaran kooperatif tipe STAD.

The research is aimed at: (1) finding the result of geography learning taught with cooperative learning model with type STAD is higher than the result of geography learning taught with expository learning model. (2) finding that the result of geography learning of students with higher motivation in studying are higher than those of students with lower motivation in studying, (3) finding the interaction between learning model and motivation in studying and its effects on the result of the student. The research was done at SMA Swasta Katolik Kabanjahe on semester 2010/2011 academic year. The population is all the first year students totaling 361 students and the sample is taken obtained from two classes using cluster random sampling. The sample constitute 91 students comprising of 45 students from X-5 using cooperative learning with type STAD and 46 students from X-3 for using expository learning. A motivation test was conducted to categorize students into students with high studying motivation and those with low studying motivation. Research methodology used is experiment with quasi pattern of 2 x 2 experiment factorial design. The data analyzing technique used is two way ANOVA with significant level of a = 0.05, followed by Scheffe test, before which an analysis requirement test in the form of normality and homogeneity test, was conducted. The research reveals that (1) the results of geography learning of students taught with cooperative learning model with type STAD are higher than those of students taught with expository learning model, with Fcount = 7. 76 > Ftable = 3.972, (2) the results of geography learning of students with higher motivation in studying are higher than those of students with lower motivation in studying, with Fcount = 65.24 > Ftable = 3.972, (3) there is an interaction between instructional model and motivation for studying, and its effects on the students results with Fcount = 8.75 > Ftab1e = 3.972. The result of this research showing that cooperative learning model with type STAD is better in raising the results of the students when learning geography than the expository learning model. Students with higher motivation in studying will get better results than those with lower motivation in studying. Student with lower motivation in studying get better result when taught with cooperative learning model with type STAD.
