Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penggunaan model pembelajaran Kooperatif Tipe STAD(Studen Teams-Achievment Division) mudah meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara siswa. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas IV-A SD Negeri No. 104202 Bandar SetiaTahun Pelajaran 2011/2012yang terdiri dari 38 orang dengan komposisi 18 orang siswa laki-laki dan 20 orang siswa perempuan. Penelitian ini termasuk tindakan kelas yang terdiri atas dua siklus.Tindakan yang digunakan menggunakan model pembelajaran Kooperatif Tipe STAD.Untuk mengukur kemampuan berbicara siswa data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakantes kinerja berbicara dan dianalisis dengan percentages correction,sedangkan untuk mengetahui keaktifan siswa dan keterlaksanaan guru dalam pembelajaran Kooperatif Tipe STAD digunakan lembar observasi dan dokumentasi foto. Hasil penelitian pada siklus I menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan berbicara siswa kelas IV-A Bandar Setia mengalami peningkatan hal ini terlihat pada sebelum tindakan nilai rata-rata 43,56,pada siklus I meningkat menjadi 59,76. Hasil ini belum mencapai kriteria keberhasilan. Penelitian dilanjutkan ke siklus II dengan tindakan perbaikan pada metode, media, desain tempat duduk, dan waktu. Hasil yang diperoleh menjadi 77,39. Adapun persentase ketuntasan sebelum diberikan tindakan berjumlah 4 orang (10,53%),pada siklus I bertambahsebanyak 12 orang (31,57%),dan pada siklus II semakin meningkat menjadi 34 orang (89,47%). Berdasarkan hasil ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa hasil keterampilan berbicara siswa kelas IV-A SD 104202 Bandar Setia melalui model Pembelajaran Kooperatif Tipe STADmeningkat dan berhasil.

This research aims to observe whether the application of Cooperative Learning with STAD model (Student Teams-Achievement Division) would be effective in improving students speaking skill ability. The subject of this research is Grade IV-A State Elementary School 104202 Bandar Setia Students of School Year 2011/2012 consists of 38 students with 18 boy students and 20 girl students. This research used Classroom Action Research consists of two cycles. The treatment conducted was Cooperative Learning with STAD model. In measuring students speaking skill, the data was collected by using speaking test and analyzed by percentages correction, while in observing students activeness and teachers role in Cooperative Learning with STAD Model, observation sheet and photographs documentation were used. The first cycle result of the research shows that the speaking skill of Grade IV-A Bandar Setia students has improved compared with the average before the treatment conducted which is 43,56, at the first cycle has improved into 59,76. This result has not reached the success level yet. The research continued to the second cycle with improved treatment in the term of method, media, and time. And as a result, it has improved into 77,39. Moreover, the completing percentage before giving treatment is four students (10,53%) at the first cycle has increased into twelve students (31,57%) and at the second cycle has increased into 34 students (89,47%). Based on the result, it can be concluded that the speaking skill of Grade IV-A State Elementary School 104202 Bandar Setia Students has improved and succeeded.
