Abstract

Penelitian ini berangkat dari latar belakang rendahnya keterampilan menulis pada siswa. Permasalahan yang terjadi muncul dari proses belajar mengajar antara siswa kurang menarik. Hal ini perlunya dilakukan pembaharuan dalam peningkatan kreativitas mengajar guru dalam melaksanakan pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia pada materi menulis karangan deskritif yang begitu rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui meningkat atau tidaknya hasil yang diperoleh siswa dalam mata pelajaran bahasa Indonesia dengan menggunakan pendekatan Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) pada materi menulis karagan deskritif.Adapun jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas dengan subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas IV SD Negeri 105343 Ramunia Tahun ajaran 2014/2015 yang berjumlah 35 orang. Alat yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data adalah tes dan observasi. Tes digunakan untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar siswa. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan analisis deskriptif (rata-rata dan persentase). Sedangkan kriteria keterampilan menulis didasarkan pada keterampilan secara perorangan dan klasikal. Seorang siswa dikatakan telah terampil apabila telah mendapat nilai minimal 70 dan satu kelas dikatakan terampil menulis jika di kelas tesebut telah terdapat minimal 70% siswa yang telah terampil.Penelitian ini terdiri dari dua siklus yaitu siklus I dan siklus II. Sebelum dilakukan siklus I, peneliti melakukan tes awal (pretest). Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh rata-rata pretes sebelum menggunakan pendekatan Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) adalah sebesar 56,14 secara klasikal hanya 7 orang siswa (20%) yang terampil, selebihnya memiliki keterampilan menulis yang kurang optimal. Rata-rata keterampilan siswa pada postest siklus I setelah diberikan pembelajaran dengan menggunakan pendekatan Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) adalah 65,14 secara klasikal dinyatakan 19 orang siswa (54,28%) yang memiliki keterampilan menulis yang tinggi, berarti terjadi peningkatan sebesar 34,28%. Pada pemberian postest II diperoleh rata-rata keterampilan menulis siswa adalah 73,71 secara klasikal dinyatakan bahwa 28 orang (80%) yang memiliki keterampilan menulis yang tinggi, berarti terjadi peningkatan sebesar 25,72% dari hasil postest I.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa dengan menggunakan pendekatan Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) dapat meningkatkan keterampilan menulis karangan siswa. Oleh karena itu, disarankan pihak sekolah baik itu guru ataupun yang melaksanakan pengajaran pada keterampilan menulis untuk menggunakan pendekatan tersebut.
