Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan berbicara siswa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran TPS (Think Pair Share) pada pelajaran Bahasa Inggris di kelas V SD Immanuel. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas. Objek penelitian dalam skripsi ini adalah antusias siswa dalam kegiatan pembelajaran, pelafalan bunyi bahasa, ketepatan intonasi, pemilihan kata, penyusunan kalimat, ketenangan, kesopanan, kekompakan, dan topik pembicaraan. Subjek penelitian sebanyak 41 orang siswa. Alat pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi yang dilakukan pada siswa. Berdasarkan Observasi hasil penelitian persentase tingkat kemampuan berbicara siswa meningkat dari 41 orang siswa terdapat 24,4% siswa yang memiliki kemampuan berbicara sangat baik, 61% siswa yang memiliki kemampuan berbicara baik, dan 14,6 siswa tingkat kemampuan berbicara cukup. Persentase hasil tingkat ketuntasan kemampuan berbicara siswa dari 41 orang siswa pada siklus I pertemuan I mencapai 24,4% siswa yang tuntas dan 75,6% siswa tidak tuntas. Siklus I pertemuan II terdapat 41,5% siswa yang tuntas dan 58,5% siswa yang tidak tuntas. Pada siklus II pertemuan I terdapat 58,5% siswa yang tuntas dan 41,5% siswa yang tidak tuntas sedangkan pada siklus II pertemuan II meningkat menjadi 100% atau 41 orang siswa yang tuntas.Dengan demikian dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran TPS dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara siswa.
