Abstract

Masalah yang dihadapi dalam penelitian ini adalah rendahnya hasil belajar IPA (Sains) siswa pada pokok balrasan gaya gesek di kelas V SD N 018451 Kuala Tanjung. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah dengan menggunakan pendekatan Kontekstual dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada pokok bahasan gaya gesek di kelas V SD Negeri 018451 Kuala Tanjung. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V yang berjumlah 45 orang tahun ajaran 20ll- 2012. Penentuan kelas ini diambil berdasarkan hasil pengamatan terhadap kelas yang akan diteliti dan peneliti melihat rendahnya hasil belajar IPA siswa pada pokok bahasan gaya gesek, penyajian materi masih terfokus pada metode ceramah, variasi metode maupun model pembelajaran yang digunakan guru, saraoa pendukung dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan pembelajaran IPA di sekolah masih kurang, siswa belum terlibat aktif dalam proses pembelajaran, siswa kurang bersemangat dalam mengikuti pelajaran IPA, serta pembelajaran tidak memberikan kesan yang bemakna bagi siswa. Pelaksanaan PTK dilakukan atas dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari empat tahap yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan dan refleksi. Prosedur penelitian ini terdiri atas 2 siklus yaitu siklus I dan siklus II yang terdiri dari 4 tahapan yakni perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, pengamatan serta refleksi. Teknik anlisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes dan observasi. Tes yang diberikan sebanyak l0 soal yang berbentuk test pilihan berganda. Soal yang diberikan 3 kali yaitu tes awal, siklus I dan siklus II. Sedangkan observasi meliputi aktivitas guru dan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pada saat pre tes sebelum dilakukan tindakan diperoleh dari 45 orang siswa 9 siswa (20%) yang memenuhi ketuntasan belajar dan 36 siswa (80%) tidak memenuhi ketuntasan belajar dengan nilai rata-rata 44,22, selanjutnya pada siklus I diperoleh nilai rata-rata kelas meningkat sebanyak 20,45 (dari 44,22 naik menjadi 64,67), dengan tingkat belajar siswa dari 45 orang siswa sebanyak 25 siswa (55,55%) yang memenuhi ketuntasan belajar dan 20 siswa (44,44%) tidak memenuhi ketuntasan belajar. Pada siklus II diperoleh nilai rata-rata kelas meningkat menjadi 80,22 dengan tingkat belajar siswa dari 45 orang siswa sebanyak 40 siswa (88,89%) yang memenuhiketuntasan belajar dan 5 siswa (ll,ll%) tidak tuntas. Jadi dapat dikatakan pada siklus II ketuntasan belajar meningkat sebesar 15,55 (dari 64,67 naik menjadi80,22).Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan pendekatan kontekstual dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada pokok bahasan gaya gesek di kelas V SD Negeri 018451 Kuala Tanjung tahun ajaran 2011-2012.
