Abstract

Masalah yang diteliti dalam penelitian ini adalah rendahnya minat belajar siswa di keas IV SD Negeri No 024766 Binjai. Hal ini menyebabkan nilai siswa menjadi rendah dan tidak mencapai KKM yang telah ditentukan sekolah, yaitu 60. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan minat belajar siswa dan mendorong siswa agar mampu mengembangkan potensi dirinya dalam kehidupan sehari-hari serta sebagai masukan bagi guru untuk mengaplikasikan model kooperatif tipe think pair share pada pembelajaran sains materi Sumber Daya Alam.Subjek dalam penelitian tindakan kelas ini adalah siswa kelas IV SD Negeri No 024766 Binjai 2010/2011 dengan jumlah 33 siswa yang terdiri dari 19 laki-laki dan 14 perempuan. Penentuan subjek diperoleh berdasarkan hasil pengamatan terhadap kelas yang akan diteliti dan berdasarkan hasil rujukan dari guru kelas. Objek penelitian ini adalah tindakan sebagai upaya meningkatkan minat belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran sains materi sumber daya alam melalui penerapan model kooperatif tipe think pair share.Penelitian ini dilaksanakan selama dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari 4 tahap yaitu perencanaan, tindakan, pengamatan dan evaluasi/refleksi. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan lembar observasi pelaksanaan pembelajaran materi sumber daya alam dengan penerapan model kooperatif tipe think pair share . Indikator observasi motivasi belajar terdiri dari 7 dan 20 deskriptor. Hasil penelitian diperoleh skor rata-rata kelas IV yang berjumlah 33 siswa pada saat observasi awal sebelum diberikan tindakan sebesar 32,75 dan tingkat minat belajar klasikal mencapai 27,27% atau hanya 9 siswa yang berminat belajar dan 24 siswa lainnya belum berminat. Rata-rata dan ketuntasan belajar siswa ini masih tergolong rendah. Setelah diberikan tindakan pada siklus I diperoleh nilai rata-rata kelas menjadi 36,51 dengan tingkat minat belajar klasikal sebesar 51,51% atau sebanyak 17 siswa yang telah mencapai minat belajar > skor 40, siswa lainnya (48,48%) belum berminat belajar. Pada siklus II skor rata-rata minat belajar siswa meningkat lagi menjadi 50,39 dengan tingkat minat belajar klasikal sebesar 93,93% atau sebanyak 31 yang memiliki minat belajar > skor 40 dan sisanya 2 orang siswa lagi (6,06%) yang minat belajarnya belum meningkat (< skor 40).Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa melalui penerapan model kooperatif tipe think pair share dapat meningkatkan minat belajar sains di kelas kelas IV SD Negeri No 024766 Binjai T.A 2010/2011
