Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SD Negeri 101783 Saentis, jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar sains materi energi bunyi dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD pada siswa kelas IV SD. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV yang berjumlah 32 orang Tahun Ajaran 2011-2012. Penentuan kelas ini diambil berdasarkan hasil pengamatan terhadap kelas yang akan diteliti dan peneliti melihat rendahnya motivasi belajar sains siswa khususnya pada materi energi bunyi, serta kurangya media dalam pembelajaran yang dilaksanakan guru pada siswa dikelas ini serta guru kurang bervariasi menggunakan metode dan kurangnya minat belajar siswa pada pelajaran sains. Pelaksanaan PTK dilakukan dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari empat tahap yaitu perencanaan, tindakan, pengamatan dan refleksi. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi dan angket, angket diberikan sebanyak 30 pertanyaan berbentuk daftar checklist. Angket diberikan sebanyak 3 kali yaitu kondisi awal, siklus I, dan siklus II. Sedangkan observasi meliputi akitivitas guru dan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar sains siswa pada materi energi bunyi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pada saat kondisi awal sebelum dilakukan tindakan diperoleh dari 32 orang siswa, hanya 1 siswa (3,12%) yang memiliki motivasi belajar yang tinggi, 8 siswa (25%) yang memiliki motivasi belajar sedang dan 23 siswa (71,87%) yang memiliki motivasi belajar yang rendah, selanjutnya pada siklus I diperoleh dengan tingkat belajar siswa dari 32 orang siswa sebesar 10 siswa (31,12%) yang memiliki motivasi belajar yang tinggi, 12 siswa (37,5%) yang memiliki motivasi belajar sedang dan 10 siswa (31,25%) yang memiliki motivasi belajar yang rendah. Pada sikus II diperoleh 29 siswa (90,62%) yang memiliki motivasi belajar yang tinggi, 3 siswa (9,37%) yang memiliki motivasi belajar sedang. Jadi dapat dikatakan pada siklus II motivasi belajar siswa meningkat pesat. Kemudian hasil observasi kegiatan mengajar guru pada siklus I pertemuan 1 diperoleh skor 57,5 tergolong rendah, pada siklus I pertemuan 2 diperoleh skor 72,5 tergolong cukup. Dan pada siklus II pertemuan 1 diperoleh hasil observasi kegiatan mengajar guru sebesar 82,5 tergolong baik dan pada siklus II pertemuan 2 mengalami peningkatan sebesar 100 tergolong sangat baik. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar sains pada materi energi bunyi di kelas IV SD Negeri 101783 Saentis Tahun Ajaran 2011/2012.
