Abstract

The objective of the study was to develop macromedia flash as listening media based on Task- Based Learning for grade X students at SMA Negeri 20 Medan. This study was conducted by using Research and Development (R & D) design through five phases; Collecting data and information, designed product, validating product, revising, and production. The steps of designing product based on Task-Based Learning steps namely pre-task, task, and language focus. The subject of the study was 36 students of MIPA 1 class in SMA Negeri 20 Medan. The instruments for collecting the data were questionnaire and interview. The findings of this study showed that the average score experts’ validation on material aspect and media aspect was 4.63categorized as “Very Good”. It means the developed listening media was appropriate to used for grade X students of senior high school. The result of the product was an application/software name Macromedia Flash.
