Abstract

Akar masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah rendahnya pemahaman konsep dan kreativitas siswa pada pembelajaran matematika. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut, pada penelitian ini diterapkan model pembelajaran siklus belajar (learning cycle). Pertanyaan dalam penelitian adalah: (1) apakah model pembelajaran siklus belajar dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa, (2) apakah model pembelajaran siklus belajar dapat meningkatkan kreativitas siswa, (3) apakah model pembelajaran siklus belajar dapat meningkatkan aktivitas aktif siswa, (4) apakah model pembelajaran siklus belajar dapat meningkatkan kemampuan guru mengelola pembelajaran, (5) apakah model pembelajaran siklus belajar dapat meningkatkan respon siswa dalam belajar matematika.Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII negeri 5 terbuka medan dengan jumlah siswa 39 objek yang diamati dalam penelitian ini adalah pembelajaran model siklus belajar (learning cycle) dalam upaya meningkatkan pemahaman konsep, kreativitas siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika, aktivitas aktif siswa, kemampuan guru mengelola pembelajaran dan respon siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika.Dalam penelitian ini disusun perangkat pembelajaran seperti:Rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran (RPP), Modul siswa, lembar aktivitas siswa (LAS). Dari hasil validasi keseluruhan perangkat pembelajaran menunjukkan bahwa secara keseluruhan perangkat pembelajaran dapat digunakan.menyusun instrumen tes untuk mengetahui pemahaman konsep, kreativitas siswa dan lembar observasi siswa. Sebelum instrumen digunakan, tersebut dahulu di uji coba dan hasilnya untuk instrumen pemahaman konsep koefisien realibitasnya sebesar 0,864 siklus I dan siklus II sebesar 0,901 sedang untuk instrumen kreativitas koefisen realibilitasnya sebesar 0,827 siklus I dan siklus II sebesar 0,785 dinyatakan valid dengan tingkat realibitasnya tinggi dan dan sedang keduanya memiliki korelasi validasi katagori valid.Hasil penelitian dianalisis secara deskriptif dan diperoleh melalui model pembelajaran siklus belajar dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa. Hal ini diketahui dari rata-rata pada siklus 1 sebesar 38,69 dan pada siklus II menjadi 70,86 pembelajaran model siklus belajar dapat meningkatkan kreativitas siswa pada siklus 1 sebesar 37,5 dan pada siklus II sebesar 67,15. Persentase pemahaman konsep siklus I dan siklus II meningkat 79,31 % sedangkan kreativitas siklus I dan siklus II meningkat 76,8 %. Aktivitas aktif siswa meningkat 0,99. Kemampuan guru mengelola pembelajaran model siklus belajar pada siklus I 3,4 dengan kategori cukup baik “ sedangkan pada siklus II 4
