Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian quasi eksperimen. Penelitian yang dilakukan di SMP Negeri 1 Pangkalan Susu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah kemampuan komunikasi matematik siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran Kooperatif tipe Match Mine lebih tinggi daripada kemapuan komunikasi matematik siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran Ekspositori pada materi kubus dan balok di kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Pangkalan Susu Tahun Ajaran 2018/2019. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Pangkalan Susu T.A 2018/2019 yang terdiri 6 kelas. Pengambilan sampel Cluster Random Sampling dan banyak sampel dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari 2 kelas, yaitu kelas VIII-6 sebagai kelas eksperimen I dengan pembelajaran Kooperatif tipe Mach Mine dan kelas VIII-5 sebagai kelas eksperimen II dengan pembelajaran Ekspositori, jumlah pada masing-masing kelas adalah 32 orang siswa. Sebagai alat pengumpul data digunakan data posttest dalam bentuk test isian (essay), dimana soal berjumlah 5 soal yang sudah divalidkan. Berdasarkan data posttest tes komunikasi matematik siswa nilai rata-rata dikelas eksperimen I sebesar 72,09 dan nilai rata-rata eksperimen II sebesar 65,69. Pada uji normalitas data posttest kelas eksperimen I diperoleh Lhitung = 0,09735 dan Ltabel = 0,15662, karena Lhitung < Ltabel dapat disimpulkan bahwa sebaran data pada kelas eksperimen I berdistribusi normal. Pada uji normalitas data posttest kelas eksperimen II diperoleh Lhitung = 0,05676 dan Ltabel = 0,15662, karena Lhitung < Ltabel dapat disimpulkan bahwa sebaran data pada kelas eksperimen II berdistribusi normal. Sedangkan pada uji homogenitas data posttest diperoleh Fhitung = 1,454 dan Ftabel = 1,82, karena Fhitung < Ftabel maka kedua kelas homogen.
