Abstract

The research carried out Testing of the Mechanical Properties of the Mixed Blocks of Concrete with Fly Ash. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of the addition of bricks of fly ash from the mixture of compressive strength and tensile strength of concrete blocks. Fly ash is used in the study were taken from PT. Alfaco Citra Abadi in Deli Tua Kabupaten Deli Serdang. In addition to the variations of the fly ash of 5%, 10% and 15% of the mass of cement. The test results are obtained: compressive strength of 20.76 MPa and tensile strength of 1.168 MPa for the addition of 5% fly ash ; the compressive strength of 26.00 MPa and tensile strength of 2.166 MPa for the addition of fly ash of 10%; the compressive strength of 22.40 MPa and tensile strength MPa 1.634 for the addition of fly ash of 15%. Concrete blocks normal (without fly ash) has a compressive strength 16.46 MPa and tensile strength of 0.876 MPa. With the addition of fly ash bricks fine mixture between the strength of performance from 5% to 10% compression and tensile strength of concrete blocks that increase, while to the addition of fly ash from 15% in concrete block yields a mixture of compressive strength and tensile strength decreased. Physical characteristics of brick mixed with fly ash is lighter and more compact compared with fly ash bricks, without mixed.
