LEXICAL CREATION IN IIS DAHLIA’S SLANG WORDS IN MAMAKU HITS

This thesis focuses on the study of lexical Creation in Iis Dahlia’s Slang Words in Mamaku
Hits. The research method employed in this study was descriptive qualitative. The data of this
research were analyzed by Interactive Model of Miles, Huberman and Saldana (2014). The
purpose of the study were: (1) to describe the types of lexical creation in Iis Dahlia’s slang
word in mamaku hits; (2) to describe the process of lexical creation in Iis Dahlia’s slang
words in mamaku hits ; (3) to explain the factors of lexical creation in Iis Dahlia’s slang
words . The source of data were Mamaku Hits from Youtube. The data of this research were
the utterances of Iis Dahlia’s slang words which is consisting of lexical creation in the form
of words of lexical creation used by Iis Dahlia when describing place And the instrument of
collecting the data here employed Document technique. Based on the data analysis proved
that: (1) The types of lexical creation in Iis Dahlia’s slang words in mamaku hits were
Convertion, Acronym, Blending, Coinage, Borrowing, Derivation, Multiple Process,
Reduplication, Echoism, and Synonym. (2) The Process of lexical creation in Iis Dahlia’s
slang words in mamaku hits were internal lexical borrowing included derivation, shortening,
coinage and External factor included modified lexical borrowing, Total lexical borrowing,
and loan translation (3) The factors of lexical creation in Iis Dahlia’s slang words in mamaku
hits were found cultural factors and linguistic factors. Thus, it implies that the lexical
creations are aim to the slang words users able to understand and finding a term for naming a
new object, concept, or idea.
