Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana kompetensi guru IPA/Biologi SMP yang sudah lulus sertifikasi di Kabupaten Aceh Tamiang. Populasi pada penelitian ini sebanyak 58 orang guru IPA/Biologi SMP yang sudah sertifikasi. Sampel dalam penelitian sebanyak 58 orang. Instrumen penelitian terdiri dari lembar observasi pembelajaran untuk mendapatkan data kompetensi pedagogik, tes untuk mendapatkan data kompetensi profesional dan angket untuk mendapatkan data kompetensi kepribadian dan kompetensi sosial.Teknik analisis data secara deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kompetensi guru IPA/Biologi di Aceh Tamiang untuk kompetensi pedagogik guru IPA/Biologi SMP di Kabupaten Aceh Tamiang memiliki kategori baik dengan persentase tertinggi untuk komunikasi dengan peserta didik dalam pembelajaran (84,70%), sedangkan persentase terendah pada menguasai teori belajar dan prinsip-prinsip belajar yang mendidik (79,86%). Hasil kompetensi profesional guru dalam kemampuan menyelesaikan soal berdasarkan Standar Kompetensi Lulusan (SKL). Persentase tertinggi memahami hakikat IPA/ Biologi sebagai ilmu pengetahuan dan mendeskripsikan objek permasalahn Biologi melalui metode ilmiah (65,3%), sedangkan persentase terendah terdapat pada menjelaskan prinsip-prinsip Bioteknologi, aplikasi Bioteknologi, pemanfaatan Bioteknologi dan penerapan bioteknologi pangan bagi kehidupan manusia (52%). Hasil kompetensi kepribadian memiliki kategori baik (82,24%), nilai tertinggi (86,4%) untuk aspek menunjukkan pribadi yang dewasa dan teladan, (85,09%) untuk aspek bertindak sesuai dengan norma agama, hukum sosial dan kebudayaan Nasional Indonesia. Hasil untuk kompetensi sosial memiliki kategori cukup baik (87%) dengan nilai tertinggi (89,15%) untuk aspek bersikap inklusif, bertindak objektif, serta tidak deskriminatif komunikasi, dan (83,75) untuk aspek Komunikasi dengan Sesama Guru, Tenaga Pendidikan, Orang tua peserta didik dan Masyarakat. Hasil penelitian ini berimplikasi pada pentingnya pembinaan yang berkesinambungan terhadap guru IPA/Biologi yang sudah lulus sertifikasi di Kabupaten Aceh tamiang oleh karena itu direkomendasikan para guru yang telah bersertifikasi harus terus meningkatkan kemampuanya dalam pengembangan diri agar lebih profesional dalam pengetahuan yang menjadi jurusanya dan lebih mendalami teori-teori pendidikan.
