Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui. (1) Apakah terdapat perbedaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran JIGSAW dan STAD pada kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 4 Binjai. (2) Apakah kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang di ajar dengan model pembelajaran JIGSAW lebih baik dari pada yang di ajar dengan model pembelajaran STAD. (3) Bagaimana jawaban siswa terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis mendapatkan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe JIGSAW dengan STAD. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian eksperimen semu dengan menggunakan pre-test and post-test group design. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 4 Binjai dengan teknik pengambilan sampel adalah sampling acak sederhana dan pemilihan kelas dilakukan secara random, didapatkan siswa kelas VIII-7 sebagai kelas eksperimen I dan kelas VIII- 8 sebagai kelas eksperimen II yang masing-masing berjumlah 35 dan 33 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini digunakan essay test (uraian) dengan jumlah soal 5 item yang telah divalidkan oleh validator dan dinyatakan valid. Hasil uji validitas soal pretes dengan rtabel= 0,349 diperoleh bahwa pada soal pre test terdapat 5 soal valid dari 5 soal dan untuk soal post test terdapat 5 soal valid dari 5 soal. Dan hasil uji reliabilitas soal pre test diperoleh sebesar 0,842 sedangkan pada soal post test diperoleh sebesar 0,870. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh nilai rata-rata kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa pada kelas eksperimen I adalah adalah 82,29 dan pada kelas eksperimen II adalah 76,21. Dari perhitungan uji normalitas data pretest kelas eksperimen I diperoleh Lhitung < Ltabel (0,1040 < 0,1498) dan data pretest kelas eksperimen II Lhitung < Ltabel (0,0798 < 0,1543) sedangkan pada posttest kelas eksperimen I diperoleh Lhitung < Ltabel (0,1377 < 0,1498) dan data posttest kelas eksperimen II Lhitung < Ltabel (0,1192 < 0,1542) sehingga disimpulkan bahwa kedua kelas berasal dari populasi yang berdistribusi normal. Dari perhitungan uji homogenitas data pretest diperoleh Fhitung = 0,9899 dan Ftabel = 1,8067 sedangkan pada posttest diperoleh Fhitung = 1,0662 dan Ftabel = 1,8067 maka Fhitung < Ftabel sehingga dapat disimpulkan kedua sampel berasal dari populasi yang homogen. Hasil uji-t pada taraf α = 0,05 dan dk = 66 diperoleh thitung > ttabel .Hasil uji t diperoleh thitung = 2,987181sedangkan ttabel = 1,668. Karena thitung > ttabel (2,987181>1,668), maka Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima, yang berarti bahwa hasil belajar siswa yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD yaitu pemecahan masalah matematis yang diajar dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe JIGSAW lebih tinggi dari pada dengan menggunakan model STAD
