DESIGNING SOFTWARE ANDROID-BASED CULTURE DICTIONARY OF SUKU ANAK DALAM LANGUAGE

The objectivity of this research is(1) to find out and examine the lexical items
needed by software android-based culture dictionary of Suku Anak Dalam
language and (2) to design the software android-based culture dictionary of Suku
Anak Dalam language. There are many ethnic groups in Indonesia which use
specific languages. One of them is Suku Anak Dalam or called Orang Rimba.
Suku Anak Dalam is a semi nomadic ethnic group living in National Park of bukit
dua belas, Jambi. The language is indigenous and endangered so that it must be
documentated. Unfortunately, the dictionary is very limited. Based on the reality
the writer would like to conduct a research entitled “Designing Software Androidbased
Culture Dictionary of Suku Anak Dalam Language”. This study was
conducted for the reason of collecting the lexical items from Suku Anak Dalam
language into a dictionary. The research was conducted based on educational
research and development (R&D). Research and development is the process of
researching consumers needs in this case developing products of dictionary. The
final result of this research is the designed of software dictionary. Hence, the
product is expected to all the readers, linguists and researchers’ need.
