Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model scientific inquiry menggunakan media PhET terhadap keterampilan proses sains ditinjau dari adversity quotient siswa pada materi pokok elastisitas dan hukum Hooke di SMA Swasta Eria Medan. Metode penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI Semester I SMA Swasta Eria Medan T.P. 2018/2019. Sampel Penelitian diambil dengan teknik class random sampling yang terdiri dari dua kelas dari enam kelas, yaitu kelas XI MIPA 4 sebagai kelas eksperimen diterapkan model scientific inquiry menngunakan media PhET yang berjumlah 33 siswa, dan kelas XI MIPA 3 sebagai kelas kontrol diterapkan pembelajaran konvensional yang berjumlah 33 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini, yaitu : 1) Tes keterampilan proses sains dalam bentuk essay dengan jumlah 8 soal yang telah dinyatakan valid, 2) Lembar adversity quotient yang terdiri dari 20 soal yang telah dinyatakan valid, 3) Lembar observasi keterampilan proses sains, dan 4) Lembar observasi aktivitas siswa. Untuk menguji hipotesis digunakan uji ANAVA Dua Jalur 2x2. Data penelitian menunjukkan, nilai rata-rata pretes kelas eksperimen 36,24 dan nilai rata-rata kelas kontrol 32,95. Pada desain penelitian ini digunakan pembagian adversity quotient tinggi dan adversity quotient rendah. Hasil uji hipotesis menggunakan ANAVA dengan SPSS 16.0 diperoleh bahwa Keterampilan proses sains siswa dengan penerapan model scientific inquiry menggunakan media PhET lebih baik dibandingkan dengan keterampilan proses sains siswa dengan penerapan pembelajaran konvensional. Keterampilan proses sains siswa yang memiliki adversity quotient tinggi (climbers) lebih baik dibandingkan dengan keterampilan proses sains siswa yang memiliki adversity quotient sedang (campers). Tidak terdapat interaksi antara model scientific inquiry menggunakan media PhET dengan adversity quotient dalam mempengaruhi keterampilan proses sains siswa. Jadi dapat dikatakan bahwa siswa yang memiliki adversity quotient tinggi akan menghasilkan hasil keterampilan proses sains yang baik.
