Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe group investigation terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada materi pokok kinematika gerak lurus di kelas X semester 1 SMA Negeri 9 Medan T.P 2017/2018. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian quasi eksperimen. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X Semester 1 SMA Negeri 9 Medan yang terdiri dari empat kelas. Sampel penelitian ini diambil dua kelas yaitu kelas X-1 (sebagai kelas eksperimen) dan kelas X-4 (sebagai kelas kontrol) yang ditentukan dengan cara Class Random Sampling. Untuk memperoleh data yang diperlukan dalam penelitian ini digunakan tes pilihan berganda dengan jumlah 15 item yang telah divalidkan oleh validator kemudian di uji cobakan untuk mengetahui reliabilitas, tingkat kesukaran dan daya beda soal. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh nilai rata-rata pretes kelas eksperimen adalah 43,4 dan nilai rata-rata kelas kontrol adalah 45,16. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan awal kedua kelas adalah homogen. Kemudian diberikan perlakuan yang berbeda, kelas eksperimen dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe group investigation dan kelas kontrol dengan pembelajaran konvensional. Setelah pembelajaran selesai diberikan postes dengan hasil rata-rata kelas eksperimen 77,8 dan kelas kontrol 65,75. Penelitian ini juga memperhatikan sikap dan aktivitas siswa pada kelas eksperimen. Berdasarkan observasi diperoleh bahwa sikap dan aktivitas siswa meningkat dari pertemuan pertama ke pertemuan ketiga. Hasil uji t diperoleh thitung = 5,7 sedangkan ttabel = 1,668. Karena thitung > ttabel (5,7 > 1,668) maka Ho ditolak, dengan demikian hasil belajar siswa pada materi pokok kinematika menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe group investigation lebih baik dibandingkan menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa ada peningkatan akibat penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe group investigation terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada materi pokok kinematika gerak lurus di kelas X semester 1 SMA Negeri 9 Medan T.P 2017/2018.
