Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan tingkat pemahaman konsep matematika di tinjau dari metode ceramah dan metode brain storming pada kelas IV SD negeri 107403 Cinta Rakyat TA.2016/2017. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian quasi experiement. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SD Negeri No.107403 Cinta Rakyat Ajaran 2016/2017. Adapun populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV SD Negri 104703 Cinta Rakyat yang berjumlah 63 siswa, Dan sampel 48 siswa yang terbagi atas 24 siswa kelas IV-A dan 24 siswa kelas IV-B. Sampel dalam penelitian ini yaitu dengan cara teknik purposive sampling mengambil subjek bukan berdasarkan atas strata, random, atau daerah tetapi didasarkan atas adanya tujuan tertentu, yaitu dengan kelas IV-A sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas IV-B sebagai kelas kontrol. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika, lembar pengamatan kemampuan guru mengelola metode, dan bentuk proses jawaban siswa. Analisis data digunakan teknik analisis Deskriptif dan teknik Inferensial. Analisis statistik Deskriptif yaitu untuk menggambarkan penelitian dengan membuat daftar distribusi frekuensi dan membuat histogram penelitian ini adalah analisis perbedaan dengan menggunakan rumus t, sebelum melaksanakan uji t, terlebih dahulu melakukan uji normalitas dan uji homogenitas. Berdasarkan analisis data yang diperoleh hasil penelitian sebagai berikut: diperoleh nilai rata-rata pre test siswa pada kelas eksperimen sebelum diberi perlakuan dengan menggunakan metode brain storming sebesar 33,54 dan di kelas kontrol diperoleh nilai rata-rata pre test siswa sebesar 32,08 dan hasil belajar siswa setelah diberi perlakuan dengan menggunakan metode brain storming sebesar 76,04 dan di kelas kontrol diperoleh nilai rata-rata 71,66. Dari analisis data dapat dilihat bahwa peningkatan pada kelas eksperimen mencapai 76% dan pada kelas kontrol terjadi peningkatan 70%. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data di atas dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada perbedaan tingkat pemahaman konsep matematika menggunakan metode brain storming. Dengan demikian hipotesis berbunyi : “terdapat perbedaan tingkat pemahaman konsep matematika yang signifikan pada penggunaan metode brain storming dan ceramah pasa siswa kelas IV SD Negeri 107403 Cinta Rakyar TA. 2016/2017”.
