Abstract

Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah rendahnya hasil belajar siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning dan Explicit Instruction terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Selain itu untuk mengetahui apakah model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning lebih tinggi dari pada model pembelajaran Explicit Instruction pada mata pelajaran Kearsipan di SMK Negeri 1 Medan T.P 2016/2017. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X AP di SMK Negeri 1 Medan yang berjumlah 152 orang yang terdiri dari 4 kelas. Sampel dalam penelitian ini terdiri atas 2 kelas, Kelas X AP-1 (Eksperimen I) berjumlah 38 orang dan X AP-2 (Eksperimen II) berjumlah 38 orang. Intrumen penelitian yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data adalah objektif tes berbentuk pilihan berganda yang berjumlah 20 soal dari 30 soal pilihan berganda yang telah diuji validitasnya dengan 5 pilihan jawaban. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata kelas eksperimen I sebesar 81,58 dengan standar deviasi sebesar 8,629. Sedangkan nilai rata-rata kelas eksperimen II adalah sebesar 71,18 dengan standar deviasi 7,921. Pengujian hipotesis dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji-t dengan dk = n1 + n2 – 2 pada taraf signifikan 95%. Dari perhitungan hipotesis diperoleh thitung sebesar 5,63 dan ttabel 1,668. Hasil pengujian hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa thitung > ttabel (5,63 > 1,688) maka hipotesis diterima. Dari hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada perbedaan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning dan Explicit Instruction terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Dan hasil belajar dengan menggunakan pembelajaran Problem Based Learning lebih tinggi dengan persentase peningkatan hasil belajar sebesar 34,99% dari pada hasil belajar dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Explicit Instruction dengan persentase peningkatan hasil belajar sebesar 27,35% pada mata pelajaran Kearsipan kelas X AP di SMK Negeri 1 Medan T.P 2016/2017.
