Abstract

Pembelajaran yang dilakukan di sekolah adalah pembelajaran konvensional yang pada dasarnya menimbulkan kebosanan bagi siswa secara umum. Siswa perlu dilibatkan secara aktif dalam proses belajar mengajar untuk mengasah kemampuan belajar serta melatih rasa tanggung jawab dalam dirinya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbandingan model pembelajaran probing prompting dengan model pembelajaran konvensional terhadap hasil belajar menerapkan teori kelistrikan dan menggunakan alat ukur siswa kelas X TKJ SMK Negeri 2 Binjai. Penelitian yang dilakukan adalah penelitian eksperimen, dimana dalam pelaksanaannya melibatkan dua kelompok, yaitu kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok konrol. Kelas eksperimen diberi perlakuan dengan model pembelajaran probing prompting, sedangkan pada kelas kontrol siswa dibiarkan belajar dengan model pembelajaran konvensional. Kedua kelompok dalam penelitian ini merupakan kelompok yang homogen dimana tidak ada perbedaan secara khusus. Penentuan kelas dilakukan denggan menggunakan metode claster sampling, dan kelas eksperimen adalah kelas X TKJ 1 dengan jumlah siswa 29 orang dan kelas kontrol adalah kelas X TKJ 2 dengan jumlah siswa 29 orang. Jadi, total siswa yang terlibat dalam penelitian ini adalah 58 orang. Berdasarkan analisi data pada kompetensi dasar menerapkan teori kelistrikan dan menggunakan alat ukur, terdapat perbandingan hasil belajar siswa yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran probing prompting dengan siswa yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional. Hal ini dapat dibuktikan dengan melihat hasil pengujian hipotesis. Dimana pengujian hipotesis yang digunakan adalah uji t, dengan taraf signifikan 5%. Uji t dimana Ha diterima jika thitung > ttabel. Harga thitung didapatkan sebesar 9.745 dan data tabel diketahui 1.672. Maka, kriteria pengujian data diperoleh thitung > ttabel yaitu 9.745 > 1,672 artinya Ha diterima yang berarti terdapat perbandingan hasil belajar kompetensi dasar menerapkan teori kelistrikan dan menggunakan alat ukur siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran probing prompting dengan yang menggunakan model pembelajaran Konvensional Kelas X SMK Negeri 2 Binjai Tahun Ajaran 2016/2017.
