Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Inquiry Training terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada materi pokok Suhu dan Kalor di kelas X Semester II SMA AL-FATTAH Medan serta melihat aktivitas siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran Inquiry Training. Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi eksperimen. Populasi dalam penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas X SMA AL-FATTAH Medan. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan cara cluster random sampling dengan mengambil 2 kelas dari 4 kelas, dimana kelas X-1 dengan jumlah siswa 41 orang sebagai kelas eksperimen diajar dengan model pembelajaran Inquiry Training sedangkan kelas X-2 dengan jumlah siswa 43 orang sebagai kelas kontrol diajar dengan pembelajaran Konvensional. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu : untuk tes hasil belajar berupa essai tes yang berjumlah 8 soal yang sebelumnya telah diuji validitasnya oleh ahli, dan instrument yang digunakan untuk mengetahui aktivitas belajar siswa adalah lembar observasi. Hasil penelitian ini memperoleh nilai rata-rata pretes untuk kelas eksperimen 36,66 dan kelas kontrol 33,72. Pengujian normalitas pada kelas eksperimen diperoleh data Lhitung = 0,0968 dan Ltabel = 0,1384, untuk kelas control dengan Lhitung = 0,1209 dan Ltabel = 0,1351, sehingga diperoleh Lhitung < Ltabel. Hasil perhitungan uji homogenitas diperoleh Fhitung = 1,15 dan Ftabel = 1,68 sehingga Fhitung < Ftabel, maka kedua sampel berasal dari kelompok yang homogen. Perlakuan yang diberikan untuk kedua kelas berbeda, kelas eksperimen dengan model pembelajaran Inquiry Training dan kelas kontrol dengan model pembelajaran konvensional, setelah pembelajaran selesai diberikan postes dengan hasil rata-rata kelas eksperimen 56,48 dengan standar deviasi 9,99 dan kelas kontrol 52,54 dengan standar deviasi 8,87. Rata-rata nilai keseluruhan aktivitas belajar siswa kelas eksperimen 78,05 sedangkan kelas kontrol sebesar 50,72. Hasil uji persamaan linier dengan persamaan y = -0,0886x+80.46 diperoleh bahwa ada pengaruh menggunakan model pembelajaran Inquiry Training terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada materi pokok suhu dan kalor di kelas X SMA AL-FATTAH Medan sebesar
