Abstract

Masalah penelitian ini adalah rendahnya hasil belajar akuntansi siswa dikelas XI SMA Negeri 12 Medan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hasil belajar akuntansi siswa yang diajarkan menggunakan model pembelajaran Problem Open Endeddengan media Handout lebih tinggi dibanding hasil belajar akuntansi yang diajarkan menggunakan metode pembelajaran konvensional pada siswa kelas XI IPS SMA Negeri 12 Medan T.P 2015/2016. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMA Negeri 12 Medan yang beralamatdi Perumnas Helvetia Medan Jln. Cempaka No. 75, Medan Helvetia pada tahun pembelajaran 2015/2016. Populasi penelitian yaitu seluruh siswa kelas XI IPS sejumlah 152 siswa yang terdiri dari 3 kelas. Sampel penelitian yaitu kelas XI IPS 1 dan XI IPS 2 sejumlah 30 siswa untuk masing-masing kelas dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling.Sedangkan teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan untukmengukur hasil belajar adalah tes pilihan berganda berjumlah 20 soal. Sebelum tes diberikan kepada sampel yang sebenarnya, maka dilakukan uji coba instrumen untuk mengetahui validitas, reliabilitas, tingkat kesukaran soal dan daya pembeda soal.Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu uji normalitas uji homogenitas dan uji hipotesis. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian data post test diperoleh skor rata-rata kelas eksperimen 74,83 dengan Standar Deviasi (SD) = 8,04 dan skor rata-rata kelas kontrol 69,83 dengan Standar Deviasi (SD) = 7,71. Dari pengujian hipotesis diperoleh thitung = 2,63 dan ttabel = 1,689,sehingga thitung> ttabel (2,63 > 1,689) pada taraf signifikan pada α= 0,05, yang berarti Ha diterima dan Ho ditolak. Jadi berdasarkan hasil analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa hasil belajar akuntansi siswa yang diajarkan menggunakan model pembelajaran Problem Open Endeddengan media Handout lebih tinggi dibanding hasil belajar akuntansi yang diajarkan menggunakan metode pembelajaran konvensional pada siswa kelas XI IPS SMA Negeri 12 Medan T.P 2015/2016
