Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh bahan ajar inovatif berbasis multimedia pada pembelajaran pH larutan yang dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar dan motivasi mahasiswa. Populasi dalam penelitian adalah seluruh mahasiswa MIPA Universitas Negeri Medan (UNIMED) semester genap. Pemilihan sampel dalam penelitian menggunakan teknik purposive sampling berjumlah 76 mahasiswa yang sedang mempelajari mata kuliah Kimia Umum II di UNIMED yang terdiri dari dua kelas, yaitu kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Kelas eksperimen menggunakan bahan ajar inovatif yang telah dikembangkan sedangkan kelas kontrol menggunakan buku kimia pegangan mahasiswa. Validator terhadap bahan ajar yang telah dikembangkan adalah lima orang dosen dari UNIMED dan Universitas Islam Sumatera Utara (UISU). Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian pengembangan (Research and Development) yang dimodifikasi dari pengembangan pembelajaran model Borg & Gall. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa : (1) buku kimia yang dianalisis memberikan hasil rata-rata sebesar 3,72 adalah cukup baik dan tidak memerlukan revisi, namun masih terdapat kekurangan-kekurangan pada setiap buku sehingga perlu dilakukan pengembangan, (2) Komponen-komponen yang diintegrasikan ke dalam bahan ajar inovatif yang dikembangkan adalah integrasi metode dan model pembelajaran, integrasi kegiatan laboratorium, integrasi kegiatan luar kampus, integrasi video dan animasi pembelajaran multimedia yang dikemas dalam bentuk multimedia menggunakan software flip book maker, (3) Hasil penilaian dosen validator ahli terhadap bahan ajar inovatif yang telah dikembangkan sebesar 4,35 adalah valid (layak) dan tidak memerlukan revisi serta hasil penilaian dosen multimedia yang telah dikembangkan sebesar 4,4 adalah valid (layak) dan tidak perlu revisi, (4) Peningkatan hasil belajar mahasiswa yang menggunakan bahan ajar inovatif berbasis multimedia pada materi pH larutan lebih tinggi dibandingkan hasil belajar mahasiswa yang menggunakan buku pegangan mahasiswa dengan nilai thitung > ttabel (4,70 > 1,99), (5) Efektifitas penggunaan bahan ajar inovatif berbasis multimedia pada materi pH larutan menunjukkan peningkatan hasil belajar mahasiswa sebesar 78%, dan (6) Mahasiswa memberikan tanggapan atau respon positif terhadap bahan ajar inovatif berbasis multimedia pada materi pH larutan dengan perolehan rata-rata penilaian sebesar 4,05 yang berarti layak untuk digunakan.
