Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis : (1) pengetahuan ilmiah siswa dengan menggunakan pembelajaran Scientific Inquiry lebih baik dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional, (2) pengetahuan ilmiah siswa pada kelompok siswa yang mempunyai penalaran formal tinggi lebih baik dibandingkan kelompok siswa yang mempunyai penalaran formal rendah, dan (3) interaksi antara model pembelajaran Scientific Inquiry dan pembelajaran konvensionl dengan penalaran formal dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan ilmiah siswa. Penelitian merupakan penelitian eksperimen dengan quasi eksperimen dengan desain two group pretes-postest desaign. Populasi Penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 2 Sibolga. Pemilihan sampel dilakukan secara cluster random sampling. Sampel dibagi dalam dua kelas, kelas eksperimen yang diajarkan dengan model pembelajaran Scientific Inquiry dan kelas kontrol diajarkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional. Instrumen penelitian ini menggunakan tes pengetahuan ilmiah dalam bentuk uraian dan tes penalaran formal dalam bentuk pilihan berganda serta telah dinyatakan valid dan reliabel. Data dalam penelitian ini dianalisis dengan ANAVA dua jalur. Hasil penelitian melalui analisis uji hipotesis bahwa ada perbedaan nilai signifikan yang positif antara efek model pembelajaran, penalaran formal terhadap pengetahuan ilmiah dan efek model pembelajaran dengan penalaran formal terhadap pengetahuan ilmiah siswa. Kesimpulan menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Pengetahuan Ilmiah siswa yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Scientific Inquiry lebih baik dibandingkan dengan siswa yang diajarkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional, (2) pengetahuan ilmiah siswa pada kelompok siswa dengan penalaran tinggi lebih baik dibandingkan dengan kelompok siswa dengan penalaran formal rendah, dan (3) terdapat interaksi antara model pembelajaran Scientific Inquiry dan penalaran formal dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan ilmiah siswa.
