Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah pembuatan nano bentonit alam. Bentonit alam yang akan dipreparasi diperoleh dari Kabupaten Tapanuli Utara Propinsi Sumatera Utara. Dalam penelitian ini metode yang dilakukan dalam pembuatan nano partikel dengan cara bentonit alam di gerus menjadi berukuran 200 mesh kemudian di sintesis dengan surfaktan Cetyl Trimethyl Ammonium Bromide (CTAB) dan di ballmill selama 2 jam dilakukan karakterisasi yakni dengan Particle Size Analizer (PSA), analisa morfologi dengan Scanning Electron Microscofe (SEM), analisis X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), dan hasil bentonit alam dengan PSA diperoleh rata-rata 75 nm dengan XRD rata-rata 41,3 nm dari analisis XRD jenis mineral bentonit adalah crystoballite (SiO2), fasa annite (Al3.448Fe0.99K0.99Na0.01O12Si2.552), fasa analcime (Al1.806H4Na1.71O14Si4.194), fasa carnegieite (AlNaOSi) dan fasa lizardite (H4Mg3O9Si2). Dari hasil sem terlihat terjadinya pengumpalan partikel bentonit.
