Abstract

Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah “Rendahnya aktivitas dan hasil belajar pada mata pelajaran akuntansi”. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peningkatan aktivitas dan hasil belajar akuntansi dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran Think Pair and Share dengan strategi The Power of Two dan hubungan aktivitas dan hasil belajar akuntansi siswa kelas XI IS SMA N 10 Medan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMA N 10 Medan yang terletak di Jl. Tilak No. 108 Medan tahun pembelajaran 2011/2012. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IS yang berjumlah 39 orang. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus dan tiap siklus terdiri dari empat tahap, yaitu: perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan dan refleksi. Teknik yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data dalam penelitian ini adalah tes hasil belajar dan observasi. Tes yang digunakan adalah essay test yang diambil dari buku paket siswa. Teknik analisis data terdiri dari tiga tahap, yaitu: reduksi data, penyajian data dan penyimpulan data. Dari data hasil observasi aktivitas belajar siswa menunujukkan adanya peningkatan aktivitas belajar siswa dari siklus I ke siklus II. Pada siklus I diperoleh 6 orang siswa kategori sangat aktif (15.38%) sedangkan pada siklus II diperoleh 23 orang siswa kategori sangat aktif (58.97%), menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan aktivitas belajar sebesar 43.59%. Sedangkan hasil tes yang dilaksanakan terdapat peningkatan hasil belajar siswa yaitu dari 14 orang siswa (35.89%) yang tuntas belajar pada siklus I menjadi 34 siswa (87.17%) pada siklus II, maka diperoleh peningkatan hasil belajar sebesar 51.28%. Sebagai indikator ketuntasan belajar klasikal ditetapkan 75 % siswa memperoleh nilai ≥ 65. Dalam hubungan aktivitas dan hasil belajar diperoleh rxy sebesar 0.80 yang berarti menunjukkan hubungan yang positif (sangat tinggi) antara aktivitas dan hasil belajar. Dengan demikian diperoleh kontribusi aktivitas sebesar 64% dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar.Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan Model Pembelajaran Think Pair and Share dengan strategi The Power of Two pada standar kompetensi memahami penyusunan siklus akuntansi perusahaan jasa di kelas XI IS SMA N 10 Medan Tahun Pembelajaran 2011/2012 dapat meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa. Hal ini berarti bahwa Model Pembelajaran Think Pair and Share dengan strategi The Power of Two dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif dalam pembelajaran akuntansi.
