Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa melalui penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Match Mine pada pokok bahasan bilangan bulat pada kelas VII MTs Negeri 2 Medan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII-1 MTs Negeri 2 Medan T.A. 2014/2015 yang berjumlah 42 siswa. Objek penelitian ini adalah kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa melalui model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Match Mine pada pokok bahasan bilangan bulat. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah observasi dan tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis. Penelitian ini terdiri dari 2 siklus dan diakhir setiap siklus diberikan tes kemampuan komunikais matematis. Sebelum diberikan, tes terlebih dahulu divalidkan ke validator.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Match Mine pada materi bilangan bulat dapat meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa. Hal ini dilihat dari hasil sebelum tindakan diberikan, pada pemberian tes diagnotik dari 42 siswa hanya sebanyak 15 siswa (35,72%) yang mencapai nilai ≥ 65 dengan nilai rata-rata kelas 58,18. Setelah diberi tindakan, tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis I pada siklus I, dari 42 orang siswa sebanyak 25 siswa (59,52%) mencapai nilai ≥ 65 dengan nilai rata-rata kelas 66,95. Dari analisis data tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis II pada siklus II diperoleh bahwa dari 42 orang siswa terdapat 37 siswa (88,09%) mencapai nilai ≥ 65 dengan nilai rata-rata kelas 74,38. Berdasarkan hasil observasi, pengelolaan pembelajaran yang dilaksanakan peneliti pada siklus I, termasuk kategori baik dengan skor 2,87. Selanjutnya pada siklus II, kemampuan peneliti dalam mengelola pembelajaran meningkat menjadi 3,40 sehingga termasuk kategori sangat baik.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian di atas, dapat disimpulkan bahwa dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Match Mine dapat meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa pada pokok bahasan bilangan bulat di kelas VII MTs Negeri 2 Medan. Saran yang diajukan kepada guru matematika kelas VII MTs Negeri 2 Medan disarankan untuk memberikan latihan kepada siswa yang banyak meminta siswa untuk memberikan argumentasinya sehingga kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa terutama pada aspek menjelaskan dapat meningkat, serta memberikan kesempatan kepada siswa mengungkapkan ide/gagasannya secara lisan/tulisan dalam proses belajar, dan menggunakan model pembelajaran
