Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh hasil belajar siswadengan model pembelajaran inquiry training dan model pembelajarankonvensional beserta mengetahui aktivitas belajar siswa selama prosespembelajaran dengan model pembelajaran inquiry training pada materi suhu dankalor di kelas X semester II SMA Negeri 1 Percut Sei Tuan T.P 2013/2014.Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi eksperimen dengan desain two groupPre-test dan Pos-test. Populasi dalam penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas Xsemester II SMA Negeri 1 Percut Sei Tuan yang terdiri dari 4 kelas. Pengambilansampel dilakukan dengan cara cluster random sampling dengan mengambil 2kelas dari 4 kelas secara acak yaitu kelas X Mia3 sebagai kelas eksperimen yangberjumlah 35 orang dan kelas X Mia2 sebagai kelas kontrol yang berjumlah 35orang. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengetahui hasil belajar siswa adalah teshasil belajar dalam bentuk pilihan berganda dengan jumlah 20 soal dengan 5option. Sebelum tes ini di ujikan kepada siswa, maka terlebih dahulu dilakukan ujiprasyarat tes. Aktivitas siswa dengan menggunakan lembar observasi yangdilakukan oleh observer.Berdasarkan analisa data, nilai rata-rata pretes kelas eksperimen 38,86dengan standar deviasi 11,57, dan nilai rata-rata pretes kelas kontrol 37,57 denganstandar deviasi 12,57, Pada pengujian normalitas untuk pretes pada kelaseksperimen Lhitung = 0.1150 dan Ltabel = 0.1497, untuk kelas kontrol Lhitung =0.0972, dan Ltabel = 0.1497 sehingga Lhitung < Ltabel, maka data kedua kelasberdistribusi normal. Pada uji homogenitas Fhitung = 1,179 dan Ftabel = 1,760sehingga Fhitung < Ftabel , maka kedua sampel berasal dari kelompok yanghomogen. Kemudian diberikan perlakuan yang berbeda, kelas eksperimen denganmodel pembelajaran inquiry training dan kelas kontrol dengan modelpembelajaran konvensional. Setelah dilakukan perlakuan pada masing-masingkelas, nilai rata-rata postes kelas eksperimen 76,29 dengan standar deviasi 10,46dan kelas kontrol 62,86 dengan standar deviasi 12,56. Peningkatan aktivitas siswakelas eksperimen secara keseluruhan 33% termasuk dalam peningkatan kategorisedang. Hasil uji t diperoleh thitung = 4,862 dan ttabel = 1,997 sehingga thitung > ttabelmaka Ha diterima, yang berarti ada perbedaan akibat pengaruh modelpembelajaran inquiry training terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada materi suhu dankalor di kelas X semester II SMA Negeri 1 Percut Sei Tuan T.P 2013/2014.
