Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: 1) efektivitas bahan ajar yang dikembangkan melalui pendekatan matematika realistik berbasis Kurikulum 2013 terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa di Kelas VII SMP Tri Jaya Medan, 2) respon siswa terhadap bahan ajar yang dikembangkan melalui pendekatan matematika realistik berbasis Kurikulum 2013 di Kelas VII SMP Tri Jaya Medan. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII SMP Tri Jaya Medan yang terdiri atas dua kelas dengan banyak siswa masing-masing kelas adalah 25 orang. Sedangkan yang menjadi objek dalam penelitian ini adalah bahan ajar yang dikembangkan melalui pendekatan matematika realistik berbasis Kurikulum 2013.Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan menggunakan modifikasi dari model pengembangan 4-D (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) yang dibatasi hanya sampai pada tahap ke-3. Pengambilan data dilakukan melalui lembar validasi, lembar observasi, dan tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif dan statistik kualitatif. Sebelum bahan ajar diujicobakan terlebih dahulu divalidasi kepada tiga orang validator dengan persentase tingkat kevalidan yang diberikan oleh masing-masing validator adalah sebesar 90,5%, 87,5%, dan 93,18%. Analisis efektivitas berdasarkan uji coba I dan II adalah sebagai berikut: 1) pencapaian ketuntasan belajar siswa adalah 32% pada uji coba I dan 88% pada uji coba II; 2) ketercapaian indikator pada uji coba I tidak efektif dan pada uji coba II efektif; 3) kemampuan guru mengelola pembelajaran pada uji coba I dan II berada pada kategori cukup baik dan memenuhi kriteria efektif; 4) aktivitas siswa pada uji coba I tidak efektif sementara pada uji coba II efektif. Kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa antara uji coba I dan II meningkat untuk setiap aspek dengan rata-rata total 1,85 untuk uji coba I dan 2,87 untuk uji coba II sehingga besar persentase peningkatan rata-ratanya adalah 25,5%. Dengan demikian bahan ajar memenuhi seluruh kriteria efektivitas dan kegiatan uji coba berhenti pada uji coba II. Berdasarkan uji coba I dan II diketahui bahwa respon siswa terhadap bahan ajar positif untuk hampir seluruh aspek.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, peneliti menyarankan agar guru mengembangkan bahan ajar dan menyelenggarakan kegiatan pembelajaran dengan pendekatan matematika realistik karena dapat memberikan dorongan pada siswa untuk lebih senang dan semangat dalam belajar yang pada akhirnya dapat meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa.
