Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah dengan menggunakanmodel pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think-Pair-Share (TPS) dapat meningkatkankemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika pada materi SPLDV di Kelas VIIISMP Swasta AL Hidayah Medan.Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilaksanakandalam 2 siklus, siklus I terdiri dari 2 kali pertemuan dan pada siklus II terdiri dari2 kali pertemuan. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa SMP Swasta ALHidayah Medan yang berjumlah 27 orang. Objek penelitin ini adalahpembelajaran dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran model Think-Pair-Shareuntuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa.Data yang diperlukan diperoleh dengan menggunakan lembar observasiaktivitas pencapaian waktu ideal aktivitas aktif siswa pada siklus I dan siklus II.Tes hasil kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika yang berbentuk uraianyaitu tes awal sebanyak 3 soal. Tes hasil kemampuan pemecahan masalahmatematika siklus I sebanyak 3 soal dan tes kemampuan pemecahan masalahmatematika siswa siklus II terdiri dari 3 soal.Berdasarkan hasil analisis data setelah pemberian tindakan diperolehdata Kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika dengan menggunakan modelTPS pada siklus I dari 26 siswa terdapat 1 orang siswa atau 3,85% yang memilikikemampuan rendah, dan 25 orang siswa atau 96,15% memiliki kemampuansangat rendah dan 1 siswa tidak hadir. Pada siklus II terdapat 17 siswa dari 27siswa atau 62,96% yang memiliki kemampuan tinggi, 6 siswa atau 22,22% yangmemiliki kemampuan sedang, 2 siswa atau 7,4% yang memiliki kemampuanrendah, 1 siswa atau 3,7% yang memiliki kemampuan sangat rendah dan 1 siswatidak hadir. Dengan demikian dapat dikatakan kelas tersebut telah tuntas belajar,karena terdapat  85% siswa yang memiliki tingkat ketuntansan klasikal. Darihasil analisis siklus I dan siklus II tersebut dapat dilihat bahwa kriteriakemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa ini telah mencapai target danmengalami peningkatan dalam mempelajari materi Sistem Persamaan Linear DuaVariabel dengan menerapkan model Think-Pair-Share.Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa Model pembelajaran Think-Pair-Share (TPS) dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalahmatematika siswa khususnya pada pokok bahasan persamaan dua variabel di kelasVIII SMP Swasta AL Hidayah Medan dimana peningkatan diperoleh setelahsiklus II dilaksanakan.
