Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa setelah diterapkan model pembelajaran kontekstual di kelas VII MTs Istiqlal Delitua. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam 2 siklus. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa Kelas VII-C MTs Istiqlal Delitua yang berjumlah 30 orang yang terdiri dari satu kelas. Objek penelitian ini adalah meningkatkan kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa melalui penerapan Model Pembelajaran Kontekstual. Soal tes kemampuan koneksi matematis berbentuk uraian, setiap siklus dilakukan satu kali tes kemampuan kemampuan koneksi matematis. Dari hasil tes awal di kelas VII-C diperoleh persentase ketuntasan klasikal kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa sebesar 0% dengan nilai rata-rata 20,5; dan pada siklus I terjadi peningkatan persentase ketuntasan klasikal menjadi 66,67% dengan nilai rata-rata 64,67; dan selanjutnya pada siklus II terjadi peningkatan persentase ketuntasan klasikal menjadi 90% dengan nilai rata-rata 74,5. Peningkatan juga terlihat pada masing-masing aspek koneksi matematis. Pada aspek koneksi antar topik matematika pada tes awal dari 30 siswa tidak ada (0%) siswa yang tuntas, pada siklus I 12 siswa (40%) tuntas dan pada siklus II 20 siswa (66,67%) tuntas. Pada aspek mengkoneksikan matematika dengan bidang studi lain, pada tes awal tidak ada (0%) siswa yang tuntas, pada siklus I 17 siswa (56,67%) tuntas dan pada siklus II 21 siswa (70%) tuntas. Dan pada aspek mengkoneksikan matematika dengan dunia nyata, pada tes awal 1 siswa (3,33%) tuntas, pada siklus I 14 siswa (46,67%) tuntas dan pada siklus II 21 siswa (70%) tuntas. Berdasarkan hasil observasi yang dilakukan oleh observer, diperoleh pengelolaan pembelajaran yang dilaksanakan guru pada siklus I dapat dikatakan termasuk kategori baik. Pada siklus II, tingkat kemampuan peneliti mengelola pembelajaran termasuk kategori sangat baik.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran kontekstual dapat meningkatkan kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa pada materi pengukuran keliling dan luas bangun segitiga dan segiempat di kelas VII MTs Istiqlal Delitua Tahun Ajaran 2013/2014.
