Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui, (1) Apakah hasil belajar siswa menggunakan model STAD media powerpoint dan matrikulasi lebih tinggi dibandingkan hasil belajar siswa dengan model DI dengan media powerpoin dan matrikulasi (2) Apakah ada interaksi kemampuan awal siswa terhadap hasil belajar siswa, dan (3) Apakah ada korelasi antara minat dan motivasi awal siswa terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Penelitian ini dilakasanakan di MAN 2 Model Medan T.P 2013/2014. Jenis Penelitian ini adalah quasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian faktorial 3x2. Populasi dalam penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas X Semester genap yang terdiri dari 10 kelas. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan cara purposive yang disebut juga judgmental sampling dengan mengambil 2 kelas dari 9 kelas yaitu kelas X-3 sebagai kelas eksperimen I (menggunakan Model STAD) dan kelas X-6 sebagai kelas eksperimen II (mengunakan Model Direct Instruction). Kedua kelas berjumlah 72 orang. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah tes hasil belajar yang berbentuk pilihan berganda sebanyak 20 soal yang terlebih dahulu divalidasikan. Uji hipotesis pada penelitian ini menggunakan uji ANAVA dua jalur pada signifikan 𝜶 = 0,05Dari data penelitian diperoleh nilai rata- rata hasil belajar siswa kelas yang diajar dengan model STAD sebesar 87,36 dan untuk kelas yang diajarkan dengan model Direct adalah 73,85, pada taraf signifikan 5% diperoleh thitung =4,6418 > ttabel = 1.6731, menunjukkan bahwa lebih tinggi hasil belajar siswa yang diajar dengan model STAD dibandingkan siswa yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran Direct Instruction.
