Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan kemampuan awal dengan hash belajar bahasa Indonesia, mengetahui hubungan motivasi berprestasi dengan hasil belajar bahasa Indonesia, mengetahui hubungan kemampuan awal dan motivasi berprestasi secara bersama-sama dengan hash belajar bahasa Indonesia. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah metode penelitian deskriptif korelasional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP yang berasal dari SMP Negeri 14 dan SMP Negeri 37 yang berjumlah 400 orang, dan yang menjadi sampel sebanyak 80 orang diambil menggunakan teknik proporsional random sampling. Instrumen pengumpulan data berupa tes dan kuiseoner yang telah diujicabakan terlebih dahulu untuk mengetahui validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Tes digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data kemampuan awal dan hash belajar bahasa Indonesia sedangkan Kuesioner digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data motivasi berprestasi. Teknik analisis data adalah analisis statistik deskriptif untuk menyajikan data dan statistik inferensial untuk menguji hipotesis penelitian dengan menggunakan teknik korelasi sederhana dan ganda yang dilanjutkan menggukanan uji t untuk uji signifikansinya pada taraf α = 0,05. Temuan Penelitian ini adalah: (1) Terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan kemampuan awal dengan hash belajar bahasa indonesia melalui koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,647; (2) Terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan motivasi berprestasi dengan hash belajar bahasa indonesia melalui koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,563; (3) terdapat hubungan yang positif antara kemampuan awal dan motivasi berprestasi dengan hash belajar bahasa indonesia, melalui koefisien korelasi ganda Ry.1 2 = 0,584. Koefisien determinasi menunjukan hash 0,341, hal ini berarti 34,1% variasi yang mempengaruhi hash belajar bahasa Indonesia siswa dapat dijelaskan oleh kemampuan awal dan motivasi berprestasi. Berdasarkan temuan dalam penelitian ini, maka guru guru perlu memperhatikan kemampuan awal siswa dalam merancang pembelajaran, sebab pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan kemampuan awal siswa akan menumbuhkan motivasi berprestasi bagi siswa yang akhirnya akan meningkatkan perolehan hash belajar siswa.

The objectives of the research were to find out : the relationship between the Students entry behavior and the Students achievement Indonesia language, achievement motivation and the Students achievement Indonesia language, and relationship between students entry behavior and achievement motivation and the Students achievement Indonesia language. The method of the research was correlation method. The sample was 80 person, taken by using proportional random sample out of 400 student as population SMP Negeri 14 and SMP Negeri 37 Medan. The instruments of collecting data were test and questionnaire which had been tried before administering to the sample of language while questionnaire was applied to collect entry behavior data and the student achievement in Indonesia language. While questionnaire was applied to collect the data of achievement motivation. Descriptive statistical analysis was applied to analyze the data and inferential statistic was used to test the hypothesis and continued by t test at α =0,05 . The result of hypothesis testing indicated there are (1) positive relationship between the students entry behavior and the students achievement in Indonesia language with coefficient correlation equalize to 0,647; (2) positive relationship between achievement motivation and the students achievement in Indonesia language with correlation coefficient equalize to 0,563; (3) positive relationship between the students entry behavior and achievement motivation with the students achievement in Indonesia language by using multiple correlation coefficient (0,584). The index determination revealed 0,341. Its means that 31,1 % variation influencing the students achievement in Indonesia language can be explained by the students Entry Behavior and achievement motivation Based on the analyses findings of research are the teacher needs to pay attention to the entry behavior students in the signing course, becauotuse of which is matched to the entry behavior of students will in creas, enhance motivation ofachievement of students and finally will increase the student achievement.
