Description:

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) pengaruh penggunaan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw dan pembelajaran konvensional terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa; (2) pengaruh penggunaan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw dan pembelajaran konvensional terhadap aktivitas belajar siswa; dan (3) pengaruh penggunaan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw dan pembelajaran konvensional terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada pokok bahasan sistem ekskresi pada manusia di kelas IX SMP Negeri 2 Percut Sei Tuan tahun pelajaran 2011/2012. Metode penelitian adalah metode kuasi eksperimen dengan sampel penelitian sebanyak 4 kelas yang ditentukan secara acak dengan teknik cluster random sampling yaitu 2 kelas eksperimen yang dibelajarkan dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw dan 2 kelas kontrol yang dibelajarkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan tes kemampuan berpikir kritis sebanyak 15 soal; tes hasil belajar sebanyak 34 soal dalam bentuk pilihan berganda yang telah diuji validitas, reliabilitas, daya beda, dan tingkat kesukarannya, serta lembar observasi untuk mengetahui aktivitas belajar siswa. Teknik analisis menggunakan uji t atau uji Independent Sampel T-Test dengan bantuan program SPSS 16. 0. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) ada pengaruh yang signifikan penggunaan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw dan pembelajaran konvensional terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada pokok bahasan sistem ekskresi pada manusia di kelas IX SMP Negeri 2 Percut Sei Tuan tahun pelajaran 2011/2012 (fhitung = 3,497 dan P = 0,001) dengan besarnya pengaruh sebesar 9,4%; (2) ada pengaruh yang signifikan penggunaan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw dan pembelajaran konvensional terhadap aktivitas belajar siswa pada pokok bahasan sistem ekskresi pada manusia di kelas IX SMP Negeri 2 Percut SeiTuan tahun pelajaran 2011/2012 (fhitung = 4,349 dan P = 0,000) dengan besarnya pengaruh sebesar 15,7%; dan (3) ada pengaruh yang signifikan penggunaan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw dan pembelajaran konvensional terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada pokok bahasan sistem ekskresi pada manusia di kelas IX SMP Negeri 2 Percut Sei Tuan tahun pelajaran 2011/2012 (thitung = 6,947 dan P = 0,000) dengan besarnya pengaruh sebesar 18,9%. Sebagai tindak lanjut dari hasil penelitian. ini diharapkan kepada guru untuk dapat menerapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw dalam upaya meningkatkan aktivitas belajar dan menumbuhkembangkan kemarnpuan berpikir kritis siswa sehingga siswa dapat memperoleh hasil belajar yang optimal.

This study aims to determine: (1) the effects of use of type Jigsaw cooperative learning model and conventional learning on students critical thinking skills, (2) the effects of use of type Jigsaw cooperative learning model and conventional learning on students learning activities, and (3) the influence of the use of models type Jigsaw cooperative learning and conventional learning against the learning outcomes of students on the subject of excretion system in humans in class IX State Junior High School 2 Percut Sei Tuan academic years 2011/2012. The research method is an experimental method to the study sample as many as 4 classes are determined at random by random cluster sampling technique that is second experimental class was taught by cooperative learning model of type 2 Jigsaw and control classes are taught by conventional teaching. Research instruments using critical thinking skills test of 15 questions; test results to learn as much as 34 in the form of multiple choice questions that have tested the validity, reliability, power difference, and the level of distress as well as the observation sheet to know the students learning activities. Engineering analysis using t test or tests independent Samples T-Test with SPSS 16.0. The results showed: (1) there is a significant influence the use of cooperative learning model type Jigsaw and conventional learning on critical thinking skills of students on the subject of human excretion system in class IX State Junior High School 2 Percut Sei Tuan academic years 2011/2012 (tcount = 3.497 and P = 0.001) with a magnitude effect of 9.4%; (2) there is a significant influence the use of cooperative learning model type Jigsaw and conventional learning on student learning activities on the subject of human excretion system in class IX State Junior High School 2 Percut Sei Tuan academic years 2011/2012 (tcount = 4.349 and P = 0.000) with the magnitude of the effect of 15.70/o; (3) there is a significant influence the use of cooperative learning model type Jigsaw and conventional learning on student learning outcomes on the subject of human excretion system in class IX State Junior High School 2 Percut Sei Tuan academic years 2011/2012 (tcount = 6.947 and P = 0.000) with the magnitude of the effect of 18.9%. As a follow-up of the results of this research is expected to teachers to implement the type of Jigsaw cooperative learning model in an effort to improve the learning activities and develop students critical thinking skills so that students can obtain an optimal learning outcome.
