Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengetahui hubungan komunikasi antar pribadi dengan kinerja guru, (2) mengetahui hubungan motivasi kerja dengan kinerja guru, (3) mengetahui hubungan komunikasi antar pribadi dan motivasi kerja secara bersama-sama dengan kinerja guru. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan jenis penelitian adalah penelitian korelasional karena melihat hubungan antara variabel penelitian. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh guru Madrasah Tsanawiyah yang ada di kota Binjai yang berjumlah 167 orang, serta yang menjadi sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah sebanyak 59 orang atau 35% dart populasi yang diambil dengan menggunakan teknik strata proporsional random sampling. Instrumen pengumpulan data adalah angket untuk komunikasi antar pribadi dan motivasi kerja serta lembar observasi untuk kinerja guru. Teknik analisis data adalah analisis statistik deskriptif untuk menyajikan data dan statistik inferensial untuk menguji hipotesis penelitian. Temuan Penelitian ini adalah: (1). Terdapat hubungan yang positif antara komunikasi antar pnbadi dengan kinerja guru dengan koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,66 dan sumbangan relatief sebesar 28,99% (2) Terdapat hubungan yang positif antara motivasi kerja dengan kinerja guru dengan koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,59 dan sumbangan relatief sebesar 1,01% (3) terdapat hubungan yang positif antara komunikasi antar pribadi dan motivasi kerja secara bersama-sama dengan kinerja guru, diperoleh koefisien korelasi Ry12 = 0,63. Koefisien determinasi menunjukan hasil 0,40, hal ini berarti 40,3% variasi yang mempengaruhi kinerja guru dapat dijelaskan oleh komunikasi antar pribadi dan motivasi kerja.

The objective of research are to find out (1) Relationship interpersonal communication with teacher performance, (2) Relationship working motivation with teacher performance, (3) Relationship interpersonal communication and working motivation together with teacher performance. This research use survey method with type correlational research. Population is 167 teacher who represent all of MTS teacher in Binjai, and as sampel counted 59 teacher, or 35% from population which is taken by stratified proportional random sampling. Instrument of collecting data are questionnaire for data achievement interpersonal communication and working motivation and observation sheet for data of teacher performance. Technique of analysis data in the form of descriptive analysis to describe data and inferential analysis to test the hypothesis The Research finding indicated that: (1) there was positive relationship between interpersonal communication and teacher performance with correlation coefficient equal to 0,66 (2) there was positive relationship working motivation and teacher performance with correlation coefficient equal to 0,59 (3) There was positive relationship between interpersonal communication and group working motivation and teacher performance with multiple correlation coefficient equal to 0,63. Confident of determinacy equal to 0,40, its mean that 40,3% teacher performance can be explained by interpersonal communication and working motivation.
