Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah penerapan acccelerated learning dengan bantuan media autograph efektif dalam mengajarkan topik fungsi kuadrat dan selanjutnya untuk mengetahui apakah pemahaman konsep matematika siswa yang diajar dengan menggunakan accelerated learning dengan bantuan media autograph lebih baik dari pemahaman konsep matematika siswa yang diajar dengan menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional pada topik fungsi kuadrat di kelas X SMA Negeri 2 Tarutung Tahun Ajaran 2011/2012.Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu. Adapun populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X di SMA Negeri 2 Tarutung yang terdiri dari 7 kelas. Sampel dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari dua kelas yang diambil secara acak. Jumlah siswa di kelas eksperimen adalah 40 orang dan di kelas kontrol sebanyak 40 orang dan kelas XI sebagai kelas ujicoba untuk menguji instrument penelitian. Pengambilan sampel secara acak dilakukan karena berdasarkan keterangan pihak sekolah tempat penelitian bahwa penyebaran siswa tidak berdasarkan rangking.Dalam penelitian ini dikembangkan beberapa perangkat dan instrumen penelitian. Perangkat yang dikembangkan adalah RPP dan LKS. Sementara itu, instrumen yang dikembangkan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes pengetahuan materi prasyarat (pre-tes) dan tes pemahaman konsep (post-tes). Instrumen yang dikembangkan tersebut telah memenuhi karakteristik tes yang baik dari segi reliabilitas, validitas, tingkat kesukaran soal, dan daya beda soal. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini menggunakan tes uraian yang terlebih dahulu diujicobakan ke kelas lain di luar sampel penelitian dan dari perhitungan validitas dan reliabilitas tes diperoleh semua tes valid dan reliabel. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa nilai validitas masing-masing soal r_xy>0,4 dan r_tabel=0,312. Hal ini berarti bahwa r_xy>r_tabel maka soal dinyatakan valid. Untuk reliabilitas diperoleh r_hitung=0,544 dan r_tabel=0,312. Hal ini berarti bahwa r_hitung>r_tabel maka soal dinyatakan reliabel. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata pre-test dan post-test siswa kelas eksperimen sebesar 68,10 dan 71,25 sedangkan nilai rata-rata pre-test dan post-test siswa kelas kontrol sebesar 67,55 dan 65,80. Setelah dilakukan pengujian hipotesis dengan menggunakan statistik-t diperoleh bahwa t_hitung= 1,989 dan t_tabel= 1,6697. Hal ini berarti bahwa t_hitung>t_tabel maka H_0 ditolak dan H_a diterima. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemahaman konsep siswa pada materi fungsi kuadrat yang pembelajarannya menerapkan accelerated learning dengan bantuan media autograph lebih tinggi daripada pemahaman konsep siswa yang pembelajarannya konvensional di kelas X SMA negeri 2 Tarutung Tahun Ajaran 2011/2012. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, penulis menyarankan agar accelerated learning dan media autograph diterapkan pada topik fungsi kuadrat.
