Abstract

The research study about the grafting degree of Acrilate Acid on the Cyclic Natural Rubber using two methods. The first one is epoxidation method which is done by adding the mixture of formiat acid and H2O2 30:60 and then continued by grafting process Acrilate Acid 10 phr. The second one is free radical method which is done by using initiator Benzoyl Peroxide which is continued by grafting process Acrilyte Acid 10 phr. The both grafting process are done by reflux technique in the flask which assembled with condenser and oil bath. The epoxidation method is performed at temperatures of 500C. The free radical method is performed at tempatures of 1100C. Next step, performs presipitation by using metanol and which is obtained the precipitated and filtrate. And then, the precipitated is heated at temparatures of 500C and the qualitative analysis is performed, which is spectra infrared analysis. The result of the spectra analysis shows the spectra at the area of 1600-1800 cm-1 indicates the carbonyl group of acrilyte acid which is grafted succesfully. The reaction occurs on the both method is pollyaddition reaction.
