Abstract

Adapun masalah-masalah yang ditemukan dalam penelitian ini yaitu: siswa kurang menunjukkan minat belajar yang tinggi dari proses belajar sehari-hari, kurangnya minat siswa dalam menyelesaikan pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia terlihat sewaktu guru menerangkan materi pelajaran, kurangnya pengajaran guru yang bersifat verbalisme atau menggunakan kata-kata saja. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah Untuk meningkatkan minat belajar siswa dengan metode Demonstrasi pada pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia: menjelaskan, menulis dan membacaka puisi di kelas VA SDS PAB 25 Mabar Hilir. Maka untuk mencapai tujuan dari penelitian tersebut, peneliti menggunakan metode Demonstrasi. Metode Demonstrasi terdiri dari beberapa tahap, a) analisis angket, b) analisis observasi baik guru maupun siswa. Jenis penelitian ini yaitu Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Penelitian dilaksanakan dengan 2 Siklus, Siklus I Pertemuan 1 dan Pertemuan 2, Siklus II Pertemuan 1 dan Pertemuan 2. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SD PAB 25 Mabar Hilir, pada kelas VA dengan jumlah siswa 30 orang, dengan jumlah murid perempuan sebanyak 10 dan siswa laki-laki 20 orang. Penelitian ini dilakukan melalui 2 siklus yang terdiri dari 4 kali pertemuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dengan menggunakan metode demonstrasi dapat meningkatkan minat belajar siswa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh pada kondisi awal atau sebelum diberi tindakan terdapat 10 siswa (33,3%) yang hampir tidak pernah belajar, 20 orang (66,7%) yang kurang sering belajar, sikap siswa juga belum terlihat (BT), dan keterampilan awal siswa tidak terlihat. Pada siklus I Pertemuan I terdapat 20 siswa (66,66%) yang belum tuntas belajar, 5 siswa (16,67%) yang cukup tuntas belajar, 5 siswa (16,67%) yang cukup baik. Pada Siklus I Pertemuan II terdapat 11 siswa (36,67%) yang kurang baik dalam belajar, 6 siswa (20%) yang cukup baik, 13 siswa (43,33%) yang baik dalam belajar. Pada siklus II Pertemuan I terjadi peningkatan yaitu : 20 siswa (66,67%) yang sudah baik dalam belajar, 10 siswa (33,33%) yang kurang baik dalam belajar. Pada Siklus II Pertemuan II terjadi peningkatan 28 siswa (93,33%) yang sangat baik dalam belajar, 2 siswa (6,66%) yang cukup baik. Pada hasil observasi aktivitas guru pada siklus I terdapat 59 poin yaitu (73,7%). Pada siklus II terjadi peningkatan menjadi 71 poin atau (88,7%).Maka, kesimpulannya adalah metode Demonstrasi merupakan salah satu metode pembelajaran yang mampu melatih siswa untuk merangsang minat, sehingga siswa mampu dengan mudah menyerap mata pelajaran yang disajikan. Dengan menggunakan metode demonstrasi pada pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia dapat meningkatkan minat belajar siswa materi pokok menulis dan membaca puisi di kelas V SD PAB 25 Mabar Hilir.
