Abstract

This study focused on examining the issue of competence of students Department of Language and Martial Arts of Indonesia, Faculty of Languages and Arts State University of Medan Force Year 2007 in the development of research proposals as well as the factors that influence it. Formulation of the problem under study is to implement contextual Is teaching and learning through mini research in teaching research courses can improve student competence develop a research proposal? The research aims to improve the competence of students develop a research proposal through implementation of contextual teaching and learning in teaching research courses. In accordance with the objectives of the study, in which data are collected after treatment, then this study using action research methods class. The study found that implementation of contextual learning through mini research in teaching research courses can increase student competence develop research proposals.
