Abstract

Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah rendahnya hasil belajar siswa pada pelajaran matematika. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada pelajaran matematika materi pokok penjumlahan dan pengurangan pecahan di kelas V SD Negeri 101885 Kiri Hilir Tanjung Morawa T.A. 2013/2014. Adapun yang menjadi permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah a) Rendahnya hasil belajar siswa, b) Penggunaan metode pembelajaran yang dilakukan guru kurang sesuai dengan materi pelajaran, c) Siswa cenderung pasif dalam melakukan interaksi pada proses pembelajaran, d) Siswa menganggap pelajaran matematika merupakan pelajaran yang sulit dan membosankan, dan e) Penguasaan kelas yang dilakukan guru kurang baik sehingga suasana kelas menjadi ricuh dan tak terarah. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan menggunakan metode Inquiry Learning pada pelajaran matematika. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V SD Negeri 101885 Kiri Hilir Tanjung Morawa Tahun Ajaran 2013/2014 yang berjumlah 39 orang siswa terdiri dari 19 orang siswa laki-laki dan20 orang siswa perempuan. Objek dalam penelitian ini adalah hasil belajar matematika siswa pada materi penjumlahan dan pengurangan pecahan. Alat yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data adalah tes dan observasi. Tes yang dilakukan berupa pemberian soal pilihan berganda dengan jumlah soal adalah 20 buah, sedangkan observasi dilakukan terhadap kegiatan guru dan juga aktivitas siswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan selama dua siklus, dimana setiap siklus terdiri dari empat tahapan yaitu: 1) perencanaan, 2) pelaksanaan, 3) pengamatan, dan 4) refleksi, dan masing-masing siklus terdiri dari tiga pertemuan. Berdasasarkan hasil perhitungan nilai pre-test maka dapat diketahui ada sebanyak 7 orang atau sekitar 17,95% yang berada dalam kategori tuntas, sedangkan sisanya yaitu 32 orang atau 82,05% mendapatkan nilai yang berada dalam kategori tidak tuntas. Setelah dilakukan tindakan pada siklus I, maka persentase nilai siswa meningkat menjadi 41,03% atau berkisar 16 orang siswa yang nilainya tuntas. Dan pada siklus II diperoleh persentase nilai siswa sebesar 87,18% yaitu ada 34 orang siswa mendapatkan nilai yang tuntas dan memuaskan. Sedangkan pada hasil observasi persentase yang diperoleh pada siklus I yaitu sebesar 64% untuk guru dan 62% untuk siswa. Setelah diberikan tindakan lanjutan pada siklus II diperoleh hasil observasi yang meningkat secara signifikan yaitu hasil observasi guru menjadi 90% sedangkan untuk siswa menjadi 94%. Dari persentase hasil tes dan observasi tersebut yang telah mencapai standar ketuntasan yaitu ≥85% dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode inquiry learning dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada pelajaran matematika materi penjumlahan dan pengurangan berbagai bentuk pecahan di kelas V SD Negeri 101885 Kiri Hilir Tanjung Morawa Tahun Ajaran 2013/2014.
