KAJIAN EKOLOGI HEWAN TANAH PADA KETINGGIAN YANG BERBEDA DI HUTAN AEKNAULI-PARAPAT-SUMATERA UTARA / BINARI MANURUNG

A study on ecology of soil animals and its environment at three different altitudes in Aeknauli forest of Parapat-North Sumatera hns been conducted from April to May 2008. The samples were collected at three biotops using Pit fall trap (Barber) methods. Fifteen samples trere collected from ench biotop. Result of this study showed that soil temperature ranged from 23.0 to 26.0 oC, acid degree (pH) from 6.2 to 6.8 and moisture content from 74.0 to 80.0 %. Total diversity of surface soil animal consisted of 29 taxa. Meanwhile, at 1200 m, 1400 m and 1600 m alt. were 21, 27 and 17 taxa, respectively. Daily density of surface soil animal per m2 at 1200 m, 1400 m and 1600 m alt. were 16.71, 29.14 and 6.52 individuals.
