Abstract
The aim of this research is to know different the students achievement of biology that learned: (1) To use the type of Jigsaw cooperative learning model with traditional and to use techniques to summarize the notes using the mind map as compared with the technique summarize the record without a mind map, (2) The interaction between teaching model and techniques to summarize the notes on the student achievement biology. This research was conducted in SMA Negeri l Lubukpakam, the 2009-2010 school year. The research population and sample was all student SMA Negeri 1 Lubuk Pakam of class XI IP A purposively selected in accordance. This research was an experiment with 2 x 2 factorial design. All data were analyzed using SPSS 17.0. The result of hypothesis testing indicate that, the instrument used was reliable and valid to obtain the survey data. Hypothesis testing showed: (1) The student achievement of biology that learned using the learning model Jigsaw cooperative type of learning is significantly different than the traditional (F = 14, 88, P = 0.00), (2) The student achievement of biology that learned to use techniques to summarize the notes using a mind map is significantly different compared with the technique without a mind map to summarize the notes (F = 5.07, P = 0.02).
