Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of self-efficacy, job satisfaction and position perceptions on the performance of principals of vocational high schools in Indonesia. The research was conducted using a survey method. The population of this research is all principals of public vocational high schools in Jakarta. The data collected using a research questionnaire were analyzed using path analysis. The results showed that: (1) there is a positive direct effect of self-efficacy on the performance of school principals, (2) there is a positive direct effect of job satisfaction on the performance of school principals, (3) there is a positive direct effect of position perceptions on the performance of school principals, (4) there is a positive direct effect of self-efficacy on job satisfaction, and (5) there is a positive direct effect of self-efficacy on position perception. The dominant factor that has a direct influence on performance is the variable job satisfaction, then by the variable self-efficacy and the perception factor about the position. It is suggested, if you want to improve the performance of vocational high school principals, you can first consider the factors of job satisfaction, then self-efficacy and perception factors about the position..
