Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh strategi pembelajaran terhadap hasil belajar Bahasa Inggris, mengetahui pengaruh komunikasi interpersonal terbuka atau tertutup terhadap hasil belajar Bahasa Inggris dan mengetahui interaksi penggunaan strategi pembelajaran dan komunikasi interpersonal terhadap hasil belajar Bahasa Inggris siswa kelas X SMK Teladan Sumatera Utara 1. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan total populasi 120 orang dari 4 kelas SMK Teladan Sumatera Utara 1 Medan, dan sebanyak 60 siswa diambil menjadi sampel yang berada pada dua kelas dan ditentukan dengan teknik cluster random sampling. Sebelum perlakuan diberikan, terlebih dahulu sampel penelitian diberikan tes kemampuan komunikasi interpersonal untuk membedakan kemampuan komunikasi interpersonal siswa. Sebelum tes digunakan untuk menguji hipotesis penelitian terlebih dahulu tes diujicobakan untuk mengetahui tingkat validitas dan reliabilitas tes. Statistik yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah statistik deskriptif untuk menyajikan data dan statistik inferensial untuk menguji hipotesis penelitian. Hipotesis penelitian diuji dengan menggunakan Anava 2 jalur. Sebelum Anava 2 jalur sah digunakan, terlebih dahulu dilakukan uji persyaratan analisis data yaitu uji normalitas dengan uji Lilliefors dan uji homogenitas varians dengan uji Bartlet. Hasil pengujian hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh penggunaan strategi pembelajaran terhadap hasil belajar Bahasa Inggris siswa. Hal ini ditunjukkan oleh Fhitung = 38,221 > Ftabel = 4,01 pada taraf signifikan  = 0,05 dengan dk = (1:56). Terdapat pengaruh konsep diri terhadap hasil belajar Bahasa Inggris. Hal ini ditunjukkan oleh Fhitung = 25,194 > Ftabel = 4,01 pada taraf signifikan  = 0,05 dengan dk = (1:56), dan terdapat interaksi antara penggunaan strategi pembelajaran dan kemampuan komunikasi interpersonal terhadap hasil belajar Bahasa Inggris siswa. Hal ini ditunjukkan oleh Fhitung = 53,954 > Ftabel = 4,01 pada taraf signifikan  = 0,05 dengan dk = (1:56). Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan sebagai berikut; strategi pembelajaran inkuiri akan lebih baik diterapkan pada siswa dengan komunikasi interpersonal terbuka sedangkan strategi pembelajaran ekspositori akan lebih baik diterapkan pada siswa dengan komunikasi interpersonal tertutup dan bahwa ada interaksi antara strategi pembelajaran dan komunikasi interpersonal dalam mempengaruhi hasil belajar bahasa Inggris siswa. Dan disarankan bagi guru untuk memperhatikan pemilihan strategi pembelajaran dalam mengajar pelajaran bahasa Inggris di sekolah, dan bagi para instruktur yang melatih bahasa Inggris di institusi pendidikan perlu melakukan sosialisasi dan pelatihan tentang strategi pembelajaran kepada guru-guru yang mengajar bahasa Inggris, agar pembelajaran bahasa Inggris yang sesuai dengan tujuan yang diharapkan dapat tercapai.
